ELEAGUE has unveiled the first six teams who will compete in its inaugural season.
With little over two months left before the start of the first season of ELEAGUE, featuring a whopping $1.2 million prize pool, Turner has announced the first six participating sides, who account for one-third of the 18 teams who will be competing in the tournament.
Taking part in ELEAGUE will be North American duo Cloud9 and CLG, Australian side Renegades and European trio Astralis, Ninjas in Pyjamas and MOUZ. OpTic are also confirmed for the league after winning the Road To Las Vegas event in January, but they are not part of the first batch of teams unveiled by Turner on its website.
Astralis confirmed in ELEAGUE
Initially, ELEAGUE was supposed to feature just 15 teams, but the tournament has now been expanded to 18 sides, with Turner stating, however, that only 16 spots are currently filled.
Starting on May 24, ELEAGUE will run for ten weeks and culminate with a best-of-three final, called the 'Global Championship', on July 30. The complete tournament schedule can be found here.
The list of participants for ELEAGUE currently looks as follows:
