Worst Players have advanced on in the lower bracket while SK have been eliminated from the tournament after the Ukrainian team's victory, 2-0 (16-8 on Mirage, 16-10 on Cache).
SK have been in disappointing form lately, not only bombing out of the recent EU Regional Minor but also in their first match of the tournament against HellRaisers. Worst Players on the other hand were coming off a respectable performance against Virtus.pro being knocked down to the lower bracket by the slimmest of margins.
s1mple had a lot of reasons to be thrilled with his performance
The first map, Mirage, was chosen by SK and all the analysts agreed that this should have been a map going the way of the Danish team. It was Worst Players who came out firing on the CT side however, building up a 7-1 lead before the Danish team could respond. SK was able to grind their way back into the half closing it out 8-7 in favor of the Ukrainians.
The second half was entirely about Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev. The ex-Team Liquid star gave us the half everyone expected, as he single-handedly dismantled SK round after round. After the dust had settled, it was Worst Players who were victorious on the map choice of SK, 16-8.
The second map started off in a similar manner as once again, Worst Players won the crucial pistol round starting off on the Terrorist side. This time the Danish team weren't able to make up as much ground, however, allowing Worst Players to end the half 10-5.
The next, and what would prove final half of the series started off with a bang as s1mple opened things up with a 5-kill USP hold of the A-bombsite. This really opened things up for Worst Players as they were quickly able to bring themselves within three rounds of taking the series. From this moment, it was only a matter of time before s1mple and co. could close out the match, eventually winning on Cache, 16-8.
