Renegades have secured a spot in Season 3 of the Esports Championship Series (ECS) after being awarded a walkover win in the promotion stage.
The Australian team were due to face Complexity in a best-of-five promotion clash, with the winner qualifying for the third edition of ECS.
However, TSM, who had been paired with Bee's Money Crew in the other promotion match, informed ECS officials that they were unable to field a lineup for the match, with Renegades being subsequently moved up to ECS as a result of their number-one seed from the Development League.
Renegades secure ECS spot
Renegades, who are down to just three men after losing Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland and Yaman "yam" Ergenekon, have become the ninth team confirmed for the North American ECS division. The final spot will be filled by the victor of the other promotion match, pitting compLexity against Bee's Money Crew.
